2020 – 2021 Female Winter Teams Update
The big change to our Winter Teams program, comes with it’s tryout camp(s). We will have 3 camps in 2 different locations for you to tryout at; Saskatoon, and Edmonton.
We are also very excited to announce that 222’s Fastpitch will have a 12U Travel Team! This is a big addition to the travel team family.
Tryout Camp Locations and Dates
August 18th, 2020 – Saskatoon Gordie Howe Sports Complex – 1525 Ave P South, Saskatoon (between 9am – 4pm *Registration begins at 830am*)
August 22nd, 2020 – Saskatoon Gordie Howe Sports Complex – 1525 Ave P South, Saskatoon (between 12pm – 6pm *Registration begins at 1130am*)
August 26th, 2020 – Edmonton – Turf Training Center – 5820 59 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB (between 10am – 4pm *Registration begins at 930am*)
We have tourneys planned, but due to Covid Pandemic we need to be prepared to offer some different options and will provide those options to you as soon as possible. The key for 222’s Fastpitch is we will NOT be traveling into the U.S. until crossing the border allows for us NOT to have to Quarantine when we come back. We are currently looking at many different locations options as well, based on what is safe for us and what is not. We will have more information over the coming weeks.
That being said, we STILL require for all to attend a tryout camp in order to be eligible for any of our Winter Teams.
Age Eligibility:
12U – 2008-2007 (2 tourneys in 2020)
12U – 2008 and Younger (2 tourneys 2021)
14U – 2006-2005 (4 tourneys in 2020)
14U – 2007-2006 (3 tourneys in 2021)
16U – 2004 – 2003 (4 tourneys in 2020)
16U – 2005 – 2004 (2-4 tourneys in 2021)
18U – 2003 – 2002 (2 tourneys in 2021)

Next winter season the travel tournament format will be:
222’s understands by expanding the tournament schedule that athletes making the teams will likely not commit to all of the dates. The coaching staff will again offer tournaments to athletes and they will have the choice to accept or decline the tournaments offered.

Common Questions:
How old does my daughter have to be to try out? Our youngest players will have a birth year of 2008 / Our oldest players will have a birth year of 2002.
Is there a cost to try out? There will be a $165.00 (plus GST tax) Fee to attend the tryout Camp.
My daughter did not play on a 222’s Fastpitch Team last year, does she have as good a chance of making a team as someone who played last year? Yes. Although we definitely do not want to see any of our last year’s players go, in order to be fair, each team will be selected from scratch, based on the same criteria as last year. No one holds a spot because they are a former team member.
If my daughter makes one of the Winter Teams, does she have to attend all the tournaments? No. If selected, we do ask that they definitely commit to two tournaments. When the team is selected, the plan is to have 13 players travel to each event. There will NOT be an alternate list of players this year. Instead, rosters of 13 players will be created for each tournament.
