Troy Gordon

Troy was born and raised in Regina, SK, and still calls Regina his home (White City). Although Troy did not start playing Fastpitch Softball until he was 19 years of age, he was a very quick learner, and fell in love with the sport, which he continues to play today at an elite level.

Troy was a key member on some of the best men’s fastpitch teams to ever come out of Saskatchewan. Troy played at the Sr. A level for many years, spending time with the Regina Merchants, and Saskatoon Aspen Interiors.

During his time with Regina and Saskatoon, Troy attended several ISC World Tournaments. In 2002, as a member of the Regina Merchants, he received a Silver Medal at the Sr. A Canadian Championships, and a Gold Medal in 2004 as a member of the Saskatoon Aspen Interiors Softball Team.

In 2002, Troy played a season in Australia where he was able to hone his skills with elite players on the other side of the globe.

Troy still continue to play competitively with the Bulyea Rustlers and have gone on to win two Western Canadian Championships (2010, 2015).

Throughout Troy’s career he has played several positions. His early years were spent playing all three outfield positions, but in his last several seasons has moved to playing both middle infield positions.
Troy was and still is a skilled defensive player, however, his best asset is definitely his bat. From his early years to even now, Troy is considered one of the best hitters in the Province. Troy is a very tough batter to strike out, but what has made him so valuable to his teammates is his uncanny ability to get the big hit at the big moment. When the game was on the line, you wanted Troy at the plate.
So all that being said,  222’s Fastpitch is very fortunate to add Troy to our Team of top notch Instructors. Our students will most definitely benefit from his expertise.
